Red Lake Man Sentenced For Domestic Assault

A Red Lake man has been sentenced in district court for “domestic assault by a habitual offender.” According to the US Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Allen Robert Cloud was sentenced on Thursday, July 23 after pleading guilty in December, 2025 to “one count of domestic assault resulting in substantial bodily harm.” The sentencing comes from an incident on July 11, 2025 that happened on the Red Lake Nation reservation when Cloud reportedly sought out the victim, his longtime partner, at a neighbor’s house where she was hiding from him. Upon finding her, Cloud violently assaulted her and forced her to leave the neighbor’s house, and prevented her from escaping. After Cloud fell asleep, the victim reportedly attempted to flee when Cloud chased her down and hit her on the head with a piece of concrete. The victim was airlifted to a hospital due to her injuries. Cloud was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment. Prior to the July, 2025 assault, Cloud had at least five Tribal Court convictions for criminal domestic violence and stalking involving domestic assaults committed between 2010 and 2023.
