A Fergus Falls man is facing multiple felony child solicitation and drug charges after an online sting led police to his home. Police were called just before 9:30 a.m. July 24 to the 100 block of West Lincoln Avenue after a member of a citizen group that poses online as minors reported disturbing messages. The group said 41-year-old Braxton Monte Anderson believed he was talking to a 14-year-old girl, sent sexually explicit images and messages, and talked about meeting her. Documents say Anderson met the decoy through a dating app and continued the conversations even after being told the girl was 14. According to documents, the group confronted Anderson outside his residence, then called police. After reviewing evidence, officers interviewed Anderson, who admitted that he had been communicating with someone he believed was 14 and that the messages were sexual. Documents say police searched Anderson’s apartment and seized electronic devices, along with about 7.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Documents also say two children under 15 were in the home located a block from a city splash park and city park. Anderson is charged with three felony counts of electronic solicitation of a child and two felony drug-related counts: third-degree controlled substance crime, possession of methamphetamine in a park zone, and storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in a residence with a child.
