Four people were killed and another is seriously injured after a horrific head-on crash near Mille Lacs Lake on Wednesday evening. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just before 7 p.m. on Highway 169 near Shakopee Lake Road on the lake's southwest shore, where a northbound Buick LeSabre crossed the centerline and struck a Saab head-on. Four people have died as a result of the collision, the state patrol confirmed to Bring Me The News, with at least one of those involved not wearing a seat belt at the time. The Saab was being driven by a 21-year-old woman from Isle with no passengers. The Buick was being driven by a 53-year-old Minneapolis woman, with passengers including two men aged 51 and 41 from Minneapolis and Onamia respectively, and a woman aged 25 from Onamia. It has not been confirmed at this time which of those were killed and which survived, but suffered life-threatening injuries. The state patrol says road conditions were dry at the time of the collision. It's the second fatal crash reported on the southwest shore of Mille Lacs Lake in recent days, with a Garrison woman killed in a crash in icy conditions on Tuesday morning.
