Amish Buggy Accident

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says, one woman has severe injuries after a minivan rear ended her Amish buggy. Just before 6 pm on Monday  Oct. 14, deputies and New York Milles Fire/Rescue responded to the crash. The driver of the minivan, 85-year-old Allyn Jokela, rear ended the buggy. Officials say, they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was released at the scene. The driver of the buggy, 40-year-old Mabel Stauffer, had serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Both drivers are said to be the lone occupants in the vehicles. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The crash is under investigation.
